Xtra Drops MSN in favour of Yahoos!
When X meets Y - sparks will fly. YahooXtra is the new homepage for a lot of New Zealanders, specifically New Zealanders with Xtra as their Internet Service Provider. Yahoo manages to take a 51% stake in YahooXtra and get all those eyeballs - which sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.
Congrats to Telecom for finally divorcing from MSN, congrats to ACP Media, MSN and ninemsn for moving into the New Zealand marketplace on their own. Congrats all round really. I wonder how this will impact ACP media’s ‘buy sell and exchange’ operation online - an area and publication that is already very popular in New Zealand.
So Yahoo! search just became a great deal more present in New Zealand. Lucky I just recently put a Yahoo! site search at the top of each page eh
